Saturday this past weekend was Dad's golf tournament for work. Mum couldn't golf because I'm too big, so she can't swing the same. So, Mum and I waited at the clubhouse and sold tickets for the raffle prize to the other people in the tournament. Dad got his very first hole in one!! He was so excited! Mum and I wish we could have seen it, but the story is good too. I have a picture of that to share.
I had my very first party thrown in my honour yesterday. Nanny's friends from the gym hosted a party for all Nanny's friends. My Great-Gramma came too. The food was all wonderful! No mimosas for Mum though! We were certainly spoiled by all the women who came. Nanny got lots of gifts for me too! I have stuff to have a bath now, and a glider swing thing (Mum is going to put it together tonight to see exactly what it is), some blankets, clothes, a car mirror and a humidifier for my bedroom. Just to name some of the wonderful things! I can't wait to go back and visit Nanny's friend's Joy's house because she has a really nice pool in the backyard. Maybe I can go swimming there before the winter comes. Mum wants me to be a good swimmer. Hopefully there will be pictures to come!
Had my 32 week appointment with Kate, the midwife, today. Mum is still "expelling glucose" as they nicely say (i.e. peeing sugar), so she had to have some blood taken and sent away to the labs. Maybe she's just too sweet. Or, maybe that means I'm a girl since little girls are made of "sugar and spice"?? Mum's belly is measuring good, and my heart rate is good too. The best news of all is that they're pretty sure my head is down where it's supposed to be! I say "pretty sure" because I guess it was hard to tell. Kate explained that they usually feel for the 'end bumps' (bum and head) and then move them. If it moves, without moving the rest of the baby, it's a head. If it moves and the rest of the body moves too, it's a bum. While moving the 'end bump' down by Mum's crotch, they said the whole body was moving a little bit, but not as much as the 'end bump' by Mum's boobs. My heart rate was found under Mum's belly button, so that reassured them that I am head down. Kate said that maybe I am laying with my feet up beside my head, so my legs are acting like a splint, not letting my head move freely. What a flexible little baby I am!
Charlotte (one of the other midwives) was there today too, and she listened to my heart beat with a stethescope. Mum heard it too. Mum is very excited to see if she can find my heart beat with her own stethescope! We all know what she'll be doing with her time at work now! He he he.
