Week 28

We had a very busy week! Haven't had any time to have my 28week belly photo taken yet. Better get Dad on that! I will get Mum to post here once that's done.

Thursday (May 7), Mum got to work and wasn't feeling well. Luckily, she works with some nurses, who happen to carry around thermometers and blood pressure monitors. Although the blood pressure was fine, she was running a mild fever. When she got home from work, we laid down for a nap, while Dad took care of the dogs and practiced his trivia game. After the nap, Mum and Dad had a "date" for dinner at the Creamery. They tried really hard not to talk about me, but I snuck my way into the conversation! Dinner was very yummy too!

Friday (May 8) Mum and I had a VERY long day! Mum had to do a presentation in Windsor, so we were on the road by 5:30am. The presentation went well, even though it was a small group. Didn't get home until 7:00pm. On the drive home, Mum had to stop many times to stretch (and pee). I'm very glad she's taking July off because I don't think her back will be able to take more of those long days/drives. Her back was so sore by the time we got home that Dad had the livingroom couch all ready for her to lay down right away.

Saturday was the prenatal class in Listowell. It was fun to be the centre of attention all day! Mum and Dad got some new information on breast feeding, dirty diapers and stuff to get the house ready for my arrival! This was another long day, but at least Dad could do the driving. We were supposed to go to Mum's friends's buck and doe Saturday night, but Mum was feeling so drained and yucky from the long days, that she fell asleep. Dad didn't have the heart to wake her. We did get to go to my Aunt Pam's 40th birthday party though, which was fun. I can't wait for my cousins to get to know me!

Sunday was Mother's Day! Dad was so thoughtful and got Mum a card on my behalf. She cried a little bit. Next year, I'm sure I'll have some giggles and hugs to give to Mum. Probably some dirty diapers too! We spent the day with my Great-Gramma (Mum's Grandmother) and went to the cemetery to visit Grandma (Dad's Mom). Nanny (Mum's Mum) was in Thunder Bay, so we'll have to wait to see her. I think we're going to see Nanny and Grampa next weekend when Mum and Dad start rearranging the furniture in my room!

I'd better let Mum get back to work. She's got some stuff to do before heading to the clinic this afternoon to have a gestational diabetes screening done. Not looking forward to having blood taken, but hopefully everything comes back clear!
